Robert Earl Ashford was born December 13, 1965 to Dorothy Mae Ashford and John William Ashford in Starkville, Mississippi.
On Friday Afternoon, May 15, 2020, Robert also Known as “Boo Man” or “ASH” by those who loved him, departed this life.
At an early age, he confessed his belief in Jesus Christ and joined Griffin United Methodist Church. He was a 1983 graduate of Starkville High School.
While attending school at Starkville High, he played baseball. Soon after his graduation he enlisted with the National Guard from 1983- 1987. He then enlisted in the US Army and served as a Sergeant from 1987 to 1996.
His lifelong goal and accomplishment was owning his on business “Ash-Nem Hauling”.
Robert was preceded in death by his Grandfather Herman Watt Sr., Brother Roy C. Ashford, Granddaughter Ayla Howard, and his uncles John A. Watt, James Archie, Herman Watt, Jr.and Cousin Anthony Wayne Watt. He leaves to cherish his memory: loving and devoted wife Shannon Ashford; his loving Mother Dorothy Mae Ashford; his father John William Ashford both of Starkville, MS; a darling grandmother, Bessie Mae Watt; three sons: Robert Earl Ashford Jr. (Kim) of Austin TX, Reggie Reshod Ellis (Kennisha) of Austin, TX, and Marcus Elliot Ashford of Austin, TX; four daughters: Robin Monique Ashford of Columbia, SC, Jalissa Evon Jones of Louisville, KY, Linze Janae Ashford of Austin, TX , Charenthia E’Thel Howard (Bruce) of Houston, TX; two stepsons: Dexton Dedric Young II of Austin, TX and Reginald Wayne Campbell Jr. of Austin, TX; two brothers: John Ashford (Letitia) and Undra Ashford, both of Starkville, MS ; three sisters: Sabrina Shell Ashford of Starkville, MS, Patina Ashford of Starkville, MS, Latrina Ashford of Starkville, MS. He had 20 grandchildren, and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews and nieces, cousins and other relatives and friends.
