Morene was born in Cameron, Texas to Mabel and Charlie Turner. She married her husband Marvin H. Douglas of 75 years on December 12, 1945. The union produced two daughters; Brenda (Crenshaw) and Marva (Doss).

Morene served as the Coordinator of the East Austin YMCA, an insurance agent for Universal Life Insurance, an administrator for Austin Housing Authority, and a teacher.

She was actively involved in Delta Sigma Theta, The Grand Slam, Ace Trey Bridge Club, Les Hirrondels, OJT and HTU are both alumni associations. She was a member of Jack and Jill Inc.

She is survived by her husband Marvin Douglas, daughters Brenda (Charles) and Marva, four grandchildren: Jamar (Azalea), Baryl, Jauroy (Lea), and James, 3 great-grandchildren: Kameron, Skyller, and Autumn.
