Minister Jerome Faulkner, age 64, of Austin, Texas departed this life Tuesday, May 18, 2021. Jerome was born April 13, 1957 in Wilmington, North Carolina to George Faulkner Jr.  (deceased) and Betty J. Faulkner. Jerome was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather; George Faulkner, maternal grandmother; Elaine Eason and paternal grandmother; Lucille McCants, his brothers Randy E. Faulkner and George Faulkner III, his sister Diane Faulkner, Aunts, Ella Mae Cross, Norma Jean Eason, Elizabeth Boyd, Ruby Williams, and Joann Walters and uncle, John Faulkner.

Jerome grew up in Philadelphia and was educated at Murrell Dobbins High School. He joined the Army after high school and moved to Austin after being stationed at Ft. Hood. He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized in his church home. Jerome was a member of Mount Sinai Baptist Church where he served as one of the associate pastors until he became ill. He was also very active in the Men’s Ministry and led the Street Ministry. Those close to Jerome knew he loved ministering on the street and meeting people. Each Wednesday of the week he and his prayer partners would meet on a conference call for Prayer.

Jerome enjoyed spending time with his family and being a devoted dad and grandfather. He enjoyed golfing and was an avid bowler, he even spent some time teaching young kids to bowl.

Surviving to cherish fond memories are, his wife, Yolanda Faulkner; his sons, Jerome Faulkner II. and Jeremy Faulkner of Austin, TX; and his daughter Shayla Hargrove, of Austin, TX. Four grandchildren, Jayala Faulkner of Austin, TX, Jazzelle Faulkner of Austin, TX, Alaijah Hargrove of Austin, TX; Kiya Clay of Austin, TX; his mother, Betty J. Faulkner of Wilmington, NC; Two brothers, Kenneth W. Faulkner (Arleta) of Atlanta, GA and Michael B. Faulkner (Marilyn) of Rocky Mountain, NC;  two aunts, Agnes Eason of Wilmington, NC and Sherrill Cook (Ronald) of Philadelphia, PA; one uncle Owen McCants of Massachusetts; five devoted friends Oscar (OJ) Edwards, Jerome Buck, James Robinson, Mark Batts, Walter Lee and Larry Procter and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
