Michael Ray Campbell was the third child born to L. C. and Katherine Campbell. He attended Wooldridge Elementary, Webb 6th grade, Burnett Jr. High and Lanier High, class of 1980 (presently renamed Navarro). He was an all-around athlete playing football, baseball, and track. He attended Northwood University, in Cedar Hill Texas on a baseball scholarship. He retired from the State Hospital after many years of service for those with Mental Health issues.
Michael accepted Christ at an early age under the leadership of Pastor J. M. Miles at the Pilgrim Rest Primitive Baptist Church, Austin TX.
He is best remembered for his gentle spirit, giant heart, and excellent intellectual wit that drew most everyone closer to his special brand of kindness. Michael will be both missed and celebrated by many, including his extended family, co- workers, and friends.
Michael was preceded in death by his infant daughter Ashleigh Ray Lynn Campbell, his mother Katherine Campbell and his two siblings, Larry Cornell Campbell and Bruce Wayne Campbell.
Michael leaves to mourn, his only son, Dominique Terrell Campbell. And is survived by his father L. C. Campbell, living in Austin, TX and sister Lorie Annette Campbell who lives in Tacoma, WA., his nephew Micah Deon Campbell and niece Christina Nicole Campbell, a great nephew Myles Larry Campbell, a Sister-in-law Debra Campbell-Martin (Anthony), and his Great friend Mike Taylor, along with a host of relatives and friends.
