Mae Lois Wilson was born February 7, 1938, to David and Annie Arnold in Del Valle, Texas. She attended Oak Springs, Rosewood, Kealing & Anderson public schools.
As a young lady, she worked at the Choo Chat Inn. There she met a nice young man named Frank, who would come in often to eat ice cream during her shift. Frank and Mae Lois Wilson were joined in holy matrimony on June 25, 1955, in Austin, Texas. God blessed them to be married over 67 wonderfully blessed years. To this union, a daughter, Vanessa K. Wilson, and a son, Frank Wilson, were born.
Mrs. Wilson has a deep and abiding relationship with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was raised in a family of devout believers. She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. S. A. Davis. She transferred her membership to Mount Olive Baptist Church in 1959 where she grew spiritually through the administrations of Pastors H. A. Sneed, Raphael C. Smith, and Richard E. Carter. A woman of few words, Mrs. Wilson never sought to be in the limelight, preferring to let her actions speak. At Mount Olive, she served on the Usher Board, Mission II,Sunday School, and the Deaconess Ministries. She enjoyed coordinating and serving food at Mount Olive's Fun in the Sun Picnic for 27 years.
Mrs. Wilson was part of a special group that called themselves The Golden Girls. Daisy Jackson, Lois Johnson, Johnnie Mae Littlefield, Odell Robinson, and Mae Lois Wilson were a fierce group devoted to one another. These Christian women, who were the best of friends, relished getting together at local restaurants monthly and enjoying an uninterrupted time of fellowship with each other. In later years Mittie Bolden, Martha Lewis and Deborah Williams (designated driver) joined the group.
Throughout her life, Mrs. Wilson’s signature was service written with a pen of love. She was a housekeeper for over 50+ years. She was employed by Dr. Robert and Mrs. Veree Rock and Dr. Randy and Mrs. Sandy Pierce. Three generations of the Rock Family were blessed to be nurtured and guided by her love.
With her love language as “acts of service”, one of the ways Mrs. Wilson expressed love was as an exceptional cook and baker. She excelled in the kitchen and took pride in her work. She enjoyed cooking for her family and Godchildren. She looked forward to preparing meals on Sundays for her extended family. Many people loved her baking. The most requested desserts were peach cobbler and pound cake. She also baked desserts for her niece's food truck. Her last acts of loving service were baking cakes for the Mother-Daughter luncheon at Mt. Olive and for the family repass after her nephew’s funeral. Mrs. Wilson was also blessed with a green thumb. She loved gardening. She would go outside in the mornings to drink coffee, pray and engage in the beauty of flowers and plants God allowed her to cultivate.
Her mother Annie Arnold, father David Arnold, brothers, David Arnold ,Willis Arnold and Marion Arnold, sisters, Vernice Ingram and Gladys Lawshe preceded her in death.

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept
the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of
righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me
at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also love his
appearing. ~ 2 Timothy 4:7-8 (KJV)
