Master Sergeant Louis Edward “Ed” Enderby, USAF (Ret.), 88, of Austin, Texas (born and raised in Pine Bluff, Arkansas) peacefully went to be with our Lord and Savior on 30 April 2021.
Funeral services will be held 9:15 am, Friday, May 28, 2021at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas. MSgt Enderby will receive full military honors, and arrangements are being coordinated through King-Tears Mortuary, Inc. in Austin, Texas.
MSgt Enderby was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas on 21 March 1933 to Edward Jerome and Frances Owen Enderby. A Veteran of both the Korean and Vietnam War, MSgt Enderby held 35 years of combined military service within the United States Marine Corps and United States Air Force; achieving several military awards and honors to include the Joint Service Commendation Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, Vietnam Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal for Korea, Korean Service Medal with two battle stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal with two battle stars, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Award, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, Korean Presidential Unit Citation, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross, Republic of Vietnam Armed Forces Honor Medal and Air Force Overseas Short Tour Ribbon. MSgt Enderby had a life-long passion for Martial Arts, obtaining a 7th Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do. He utilized these interests along with his military experience to serve his local community in a variety of civic originations and employment within civilian law enforcement.
MSgt Enderby is preceded in death by his sisters Margarette Puddephatt and Nelda Gunter; eldest daughter Frances Enderby; niece Gloria-Jean Edwards and nephew John Harris.
MSgt Enderby is survived by his loving wife Gloria Elia Enderby; his children Anna Christine Burroughs (Chuck), Louis Edward Enderby Jr. and Pamela Gail Enderby; nephew Rusty Harris and niece Alicia-Lynn Puddephatt; grandchildren Magdalin Espinoza (Roque), Justin Smith, Angela Arterbury (Aaron), Christina Calhoun (Cody), Victor Allen Perez (Cecellia), David Edward Perez (Chellsea) and Robert G.A. Sanchez; and 23 great-grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers will be Louis Edward Enderby Jr., Chuck Burroughs, Victor Allen Perez, David Edward Perez, Robert G.A. Sanchez and Cody Calhoun.
Memorials may be given to Tejanos in Action, Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), Meals on Wheels Central Texas, Memory Matters (Alzheimers of Glynn Brunswick) and Dementia Care Warriors.
