Mr. Howard Jackson, Sr. was born in Austin, Texas on February 22, 1947 to Clarence Jackson and Rosie Mae Jackson.
Howard professed a hope in Christ at an early age. He was a member of Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church, and later attended Rosewood Baptist Church. Howard graduated from the Old Anderson High School in 1966. After graduating, Howard enlisted in the United States Army and earned many military honors, including the Purple Heart. Howard worked at Walter Tips as a Specialist, and retired
after 20 years of service from the City of Austin.
Howard was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Clarence and Rosie Mae Jackson, and his brothers, David Ray Jackson, Sr., and Ronald Johnson.
Howard leaves to cherish his memory, the love of his life and wife of 51 years, Peggy Baylor Jackson; son, Howard Jackson, Jr.; daughter, Treina Jackson (Johnue); Howard’s forever son, Willie Lovejoy; granddaughter, Princess Kahshanna; grandsons, Johnue Jr. and John Howard; brothers, Clarence Jackson (Claire), Andrew Jackson (Cynthia), Willie Jackson, Kevin Anderson; sisters, Dina Kay Carter (Calvin) and Charlene Brown (Nathaniel); sister-in-law, Eveda D. Jackson (David Ray Jackson, Sr., deceased); and a host of family and friends – all of whom he loved dearly.
