Henry Jefferson Nicholas Jr. was born in Marksville, Louisiana on July 24, 1931 to Henry Nicholas Sr. and Lelia Williams Nicholas.
He confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized at Starlight Baptist Church.
Henry received his education and graduated from Mary McLeod Bethune High School. Shortly after high school he enlisted into the regular Army on November 30, 1950 and worked as a truck driver. He was honorably discharged on November 7, 1953 and earned the Occupational Medal for service in Germany.
Henry married Georgia Brooks, and to this union one son was born. He later married Leola Hughes Nicholas and four children were born to this union along with the addition of one bonus son.
He retired after many years of truck driving, receiving an award for driving over 5 million accident-free miles during his career. This accomplishment was also mentioned in the community news section of the Oklahoma newspaper.
Henry is preceded in death by his loving spouse Leola Hughes Nicholas, parents Lelia and Henry Nicholas Sr., brother Allen Nicholas, sister Jean A. Nicholas Batiste, sister Louise N. Smith, and brother Clifton Nicholas.
He leaves to cherish his memories his sons Fred Nicholas, Henry Nicholas III, and Joe Frida; daughters Romona Jones, LaTanya Nicholas and Tracy Dunn (Brent); brothers Larry Nicholas (Cherryl), Rev Dr. Albert Nicholas (Earnestine), Lones Nicholas (Mary), John Wilson Nicholas (Bernadine: deceased); sisters Laura N. Green-Keys, Lelia Marie N. Taylor; 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and an abundance of nieces, nephews, cousins, family members and close friends.
