Gertrude E.Stiles was born in 1912 in Austin, Texas to parents Clarence Leroy and Alma Stiles, both of whom preceded her in death. Her four brothers, Leroy Stiles,Robert Stiles,Thomas 'TJ' Stiles,and James Stiles also preceded her in death.She lived the majority of her life in Los Angeles, CA, where she worked as a seamstress,then later moved to Inglewood, CA where she lived until her health began to fail her. It was her request that her remains be returned home to Austin, Texas.
She was a god-fearing woman and believed in the power of prayer. She was devoted to her family and loved all of her family.
Gertrude was known for her great sense of humor and great cooking. For many years, she hosted a family Christmas breakfast.
Gertrude also reached the level of 'master' of solving crossword puzzles. She continued to work on them and solve them into her 100's until her eyesight began to fail her.
She leaves behind a host of family, loved ones and friends whp will miss her, and, will always love and remember her.
She is now back home in Austin, TX. May she rest in sweet peace.
