Evelyn Estelle Collins (née Green) was born Dec 12, 1940, to Warren W. Green and Mary Green. She was the 2nd child born to this union. She passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2022, after an extended illness. The Bible says, “To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.” For Evelyn, a Christian, death is not the end. Evelyn grew up in Elm Slough community and confessed to Christ at an early age
She attended and graduated from Edwards High School in Gonzales, TX. She then attended Prairie View A&M University in Prairie View, TX, where she received a Bachelor of Music Degree
Evelyn taught music education in Schreiner, TX and in San Antonio, TX.
Evelyn was a devoted and loving mother, sister and friend to everyone.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her daughter Lisa Collins, and siblings Dorothy White-Cato and Warren Dell Green, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents Mary Delores Green and Warren Wesley Green, sisters Nola Mae Franks, Patricia Ann Breed and Delores Faye Smith, and brother Topsy Rayvon Green.
