Obituary

Emma Scott Spence was born February 17, 1959 to Jesse Scott & Dorothy Bird Scott. On June 17, 2020 she wrote the final chapter of her life on this earth. 

She accepted Christ at an early age. She joined Mount Olive B.C. under the leadership of the late Rev. Raphael C. Smithlaten. After moving her membership to Diakonos Ministries, under Rev. A. Quintin. She was married to Mr. John Spence for 30 years, the love of her life. She was employed at Austin Linen Company for 15 years. As well as the Water & Light Company. 

Approximately 10 years later, her health failed. She received her education through the Austin Independent School District. 

Emma a loyal and faithful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. 

She was preceded in death by her father, Jesse Scott. Two sisters, Patricia Scott, Wanda Scott. One granddaughter, Saniyah Ellison. 

She leaves to cherish her memory. 

Her devoted husband Mr. John Spence, her mother Dorothy Grant, four sons; Curtis Scott, James Ellison (Stacey), Elisha Spence (Sabrina), John L. Spence (Ashuna).

One daughter, Dasheinika Johnson, (Thomas). 20 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. 6 sisters; Alice Filmore (Leonard), Aravia Tucker, Georgia Scott, Alma Lewis (Madelia), Teresa Scott-Simmon (Quentin), Gwendelyn Miles (Kenny). Three brothers; Jesse Jr. Scott, Jesse Lee Scott (Laura), Kennard Scott, and Uncle Johnny Ray Scott (Sabrina).

A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
