Eddie McDonald McBride
A gift opens the way and ushers the giver into the presence of the great.
Eddie McDonald McBride was born January 11, 1952. She was the seventh oldest of thirteen children born to Mr. Eddie and Mrs. Gillie McDonald.
Ms. Eddie McBride departed this life and captured her heavenly wings on September 1, 2020.
Eddie McBride was preceded in death by her loving parents, Mr. Eddie & Mrs. Gillie McDonald; four sisters, Mrs. Gillie Jones, Ms. Betty Hill, Mrs. Annie Sykes and Mrs. Alice Benford; two brothers, Mr. Robert McDonald and Mr. Edward McDonald; three nephews, Marcus McDonald, Alton Davis & Stephen McDonald.
Eddie McBride accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age. She was baptized at Lake View Baptist Church by the late J R Reese. Eddie then moved her membership to New Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Arthur C. Taylor, the late Porter Sharp and now current Pastor Eric D. White Sr.
Eddie McBride Loved the Lord and was a faithful worshiper of Christ. Eddie served as the President of The NZMBC Usher Board, President of The NZMBC Women’s Mission Department, and as a choir member in The NZMBC Adult Choir. Eddie also served as a faithful member on The Austin City Wide Women’s Mission Committee, were she was honored as Woman of The Year. Eddie was always willing and ready to serve wherever she was call to and needed.
As it is written in Ephesians 2:10, for we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Eddie McBride loved and adored her Family. She relished in hosting, planning and organizing the family events. Eddie was always precise and exact. Eddie was an obedient Daughter, a supportive Sister, a teaching Aunt, a loving & caring Mother and Grandmother but most of all, Ms. Eddie McBride was a Child of God.
Eddie was a graduate of Elgin High School, Elgin Texas and she also graduated from Durham’s Business College, Austin, Texas. Eddie was employed and retired after 40 years of dedicated service with the Texas Department of Insurance – Division of Workers Compensation.
Eddie McBride leaves to cherish her memories, her son David McDonald; granddaughters, Daveya McDonald and Shadaya McDonald; one sister, Sharon (James) Miller; five brothers, John (Daisy) McDonald, Chester McDonald, Charles McDonald, Douglas (Lisa) McDonald, Derek (Angela) McDonald; and a host of Nieces, Nephew, Relatives and Friends.
