Deacon Earnest Price was born on February 27, 1939, in Bastrop County to the late David Sr. and Alma McCarther Price and from that marriage eleven children were born.
Deacon Price departed this life on January 13, 2022, at the Chosen Healthcare Facility, Pflugerville, Texas.
Deacon Price attended Austin public schools and shortly thereafter; went to work for eight years at Brackenridge Hospital. An opportunity presented itself at the University of Texas at Austin as a Power Plant Operator that he accepted and worked for thirty plus years. After retirement he enjoyed becoming the driver for his children and
grandchildren. He also enjoyed reading, going to church, and watching westerns.
Deacon Price married the love of his life Ruthie Marshall Price, May 29, 1965, and were married for fifty-six years. To this union three children were born (triplets) Bobby, Byron, and Betty.
He was baptized at an early age at the Webberville Ebenezer Baptist Church which later became the New Light Ebenezer Baptist Church and served as a faithful deacon for over forty years until his health failed.
Deacon Price was preceded in death by his daughter Betty, parents, eight brothers and one sister. Those left to cherish his memory; his wife Ruthie Price; two sons Bobby and Byron Price, (Carla Johnson); Ex-daughter-in-law Tara Price, six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers Elmer Price (San Antonio); Ike Price (Austin); one sister Peggy Price Carrothers (Austin); other family and friends.
