Damariae, age 22, was born on April 27, 1998 in Joliet, Illinois to Juan and Bridget Otero. He later moved with his family to Austin, Texas in 2005. In July of 2013, Damariae was baptized at The Rock World Outreach International Headquarters. He was active in his home church with dancing, spoken words, as well as serving wherever he was needed.

In January of 2016, he began his life in San Marcos where he built a vibrant community. Damariae lived out his purpose for God joyfully by pouring into others, and helping those in need. His friends say he was wise beyond his years; and it shows when so many his age called him a mentor.

Damariae lived life to the fullest through his love of skateboarding, clothing design, and photography. He was truly a gifted young man. He was dedicated to his family, be it blood or chosen, and spent every ounce care and energy on them.

However, we understand his work here was done and it was time for him to go home on December 12, 2020.  There will be no shortage of people who greatly miss him. He leaves behind his mother, Bridget Otero, who is referred to as “Queen”. He leaves behind his father Juan Otero, who he looked up to and admired as “a real man”. He also leaves behind his 5 brothers, René, Caleb, Aiden, Ian and Jordan Otero along with his only sister Soriah Otero. He leaves behind his grandparents, Toni Rainey, Ronald Rainey Sr, Bobby Bennett Sr, Judy Trammell, Juan and Evelyn Otero and Iris Hayes, Nina Batts as well as aunts, uncles, cousins and tons of friends. He was loved by and will be remembered by all that knew him.
