Cornelius Walker Sr., also known as “Coos,” was born April 18, 1947 to JT Walker and Marjorie Wilson in Austin, Texas. He departed this life at 9:08 p.m., Saturday February 6, 2021.
His parents, his brother, JT “Dooney” Walker, and his sister, Billy Jean McDonald, preceded him in death.
Cornelius attended Austin Public Schools. After graduation, he was drafted into the U.S. Army. He became an Engineer, 1st Infantry, Big Red One, and there he received the Purple Heart Medal.
Cornelius “Coos” had an aura about him; he just drew people toward him. He easily touched the lives of those whom he encountered. He would do anything and protect anyone that he loved and liked. He will be greatly missed.
Cornelius “Coos” leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Loretta, also known as “Baby,” and “Lo” of 48 years. To this union, two sons were born: Cornelius “Man” “Coos Jr.”, (wife Erika) and Derek “D” (Monique); eight grandchildren: Cornelius III, Jayde, Ter’Rai, Jaleal, MaCaiya, Trai, D’Erian, and D’Asia, three brothers: Henry Walker, Maurice Walker, and James Walker, one sister: Virginia Lee Hill, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
