Bertha Brown was born in Manor, Texas on June 25th, 1937 to David and Christel Perkins. She attended Manor Public School, graduating as Valedictorian of her class. She attended Houston Tillotson College. She accepted Christ at an early age and united with the Gildon Creek 3re Baptist Church. She later united with the Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church, where she remained until death. She worked with the choir, mission, deacons, and food service.
She was united in Holy Matrimoney to David Brown on June 27th, 1959, and they journeyed together for over 64 years.
She worked for AISD, The Fashion Shops, and The State of Texas before retiring in the 90s to care for her mother.
Both parents, and three brothers, J.D. Piper, Rev. Charles Odell Perkins, and Daniel Nunn preceded her in death.
She departed this life on November 2nd, 2023.
She leaves to mourn her passing: her husband Mr. David Brown, one grandson Mr. Terrance Perkins, three great-grandchildren Miss Tariah Deshay F. Norton of Pflugerville, Texas, Jamari Marquest Perkins and Legend D. Perkins of Austin, Texas, four sisters Mrs. Connie Mae Davis, Mrs. Lenora Easley of Manor, Texas, Mrs. Elnora Hill of Pflugerville, Texas, Ms. Louis Jean Nunn of Austin, Texas, one brother Mr. David Clifford Perkins (Rita) of Houston, Texas, a special person Katt Batts of Austin, Texas, and a host of other relatives and friends.
