Bennie Lee

May 19, 1947 ~ July 13, 2020 (age 73)

Bennie Lee Jr. story began on May 19, 1947 when he was born to Effie Dixon Lee and Bennie Lee Sr. Effie later married Mitchell Harris Jr. and they raised Bennie from the age of two. His parents were early entrepreneurs in the community. Bennie professed a hope in Christ at an early age. He attended Austin public schools, Sims Elementary, Kealing and L.C. Anderson High School. During his school age years, he was a very profound athlete. He also was very passionate about all types of sports. Bennie loved his family and was very protective of them.

At the tender age of eighteen he entered the Army.  During his stay he toured Germany and the US. He obtained many medals, ribbons and certifications. Some of those awards were, four Marksman Medals, Ribbons of Honor and the Medal for certification was in driving Army tanks and teaching this skill. He was also in the Special Army Forces and was awarded Top in his Platoon, he also entered the boxing ring and was awarded a Golden Glove in his stay in the Arm Forces. He was one with MANY talents.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Mitchell Harris Jr., Effie Dixon Harris and sister Charlotte Harris.

He leaves to cherish his memory two special Aunts, Clara Jackson, Marie Milton, four brothers Charles Harris Sr., Raydel Harris (Faye), Royie Lee Harris Sr., Donell Harris Sr., two sisters Julia Williams, Ethel Harris, special friend Christine Postell, along with a host of many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
