Virlin Marie Blue

January 6, 1951 ~ December 8, 2018 (age 67)

Virlin Marie Jones was born to the late Frances I. Jones and the late James S. Revetta Sr. on January 6, 1951, at Holy Cross Hospital in Austin Texas. She departed this life on December 8, 2018.  As a young child, her mother Francis, met and married her step-father the late Roy Melvin Scott, Sr.

She attended public schools in Los Angeles California and Austin Texas, and was a 1969 graduate of Old L.C. Anderson High School in Austin.

In 1971 she had her first daughter, Ingrid Vanessa with Billy Ray Jones. 1974 she met and later married Elvis L. Blue and from that union, two more daughters were born, Chassity Latrice, and Camille Janae. Virlin worked for the Veterans Administration and then retired after 41 of service.  Virlin, affectionately called “Babysis” truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; chatting with friends and family, and was always known for her generous hospitality, and her passion for cooking.  She had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way.  In her later years she was blessed to share her life with her soulmate Oscar C. Lofton (“O.C.”).

She leaves to cherish her memories, three daughters, Ingrid, Chassity and Camille; four step-daughters, Sheila, Sonya, Pamela, and Tara; four step-sons, John, Eric, Quincy, and Eric U.; two sisters, Jacqueline and Patricia, four brothers, Alfred, Richard, Roy and Shannon; two Aunts, Mary  and Ellen, one uncle, Leslie; four sisters-in-law Annie, Eartha, Tina, Sandra; two brothers-in-law, Kevin and Kermit; ten nieces, eight nephews eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and a host of family and friends.

We will all miss her deeply.
