Samuel Melvin Collins Jr. (Sam) was born December 21, 1951 in San Antonio, TX to the late Helen M. Collins and Samuel Melvin Collins Sr.
Sam attended Austin Public Schools and went to Killeen High School .
Sam married Vicki Talley, they had three sons Phillip, Aaron and Quincy Collins.
Samuel was a very caring and friendly person. Wherever he went he spoke to everyone, he never met a stranger . He loved helping his family, friends and neighbors. His parting words were always “call me if you need me “, even after he could no longer physically help. Sam was the life of the party. His arrival was always anticipated at any gathering. Sam loved to laugh and make others laugh by telling his Tall Tales a.k.a. Sammy Tales". S
amuel received Christ at an early age. Samuel was preceded in death by his father, Samuel M. Collins Sr., his mother, Helen M. Collins Van Dyke, sister Cecelia A. Currie, sister in law Bobbie Patterson and grandparents.
