Robert Eugene Davis

February 7, 1953 ~ October 4, 2019 (age 66)

Robert Eugene Davis, affectionately and lovingly known to family, friends and coworkers as Dave, departed his earthly house to enter his eternal rest on Friday, October 4, 2019 at the age of 66, after a brief illness. 

Robert was born to Jewell and Odessa (O.D.) Davis on February 7, 1953 in Argentine, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Lee Davis, and sisters, Jewellean Davis Lewis and Nadine Davis.

Robert confessed a hope in Christ at the Second Metropolitan Baptist Church in Argentine, Kansas.  He continued to love the Lord and joined the Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in 2001 and was an active member for over twenty-four years.

He was a graduate of Argentine High School and went on to join the United States Air Force, where he became an E5 Staff Sargent and served for eleven years. He was recipient of many Safety Awards, went through NCO Leadership School and training in Human Communications (Counseling skills and work relationships).  Robert gave nineteen years of service to the City of Austin as meter reader and Capitol Metro bus driver. 

In 2002, he joined the Maintenance staff at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church and served faithful for seventeen years.

His precious memory will be cherished by his loving wife of forty-one years,  Joyce Davis; children, Caretia L. Lubinski, Thomas P. Goodwin (Julianne), Nikita J. Goodwin, Robert J. Davis (Hope); Adopted children, Lonnie Davis (Taneka), Rozanna Harrison, Donna Brown (Ken), Yulonda Nance; Grandchildren, Al Lewis, Thomas Davon Bell of Arlington, Texas, Alexzandra Goodwin, James Goodwin, Ethan Daniel, Elliott Daniel, Sabastin Goodwin, Mahogany Davis and Alana Davis of Houston, TX, Rashawn Goodwin, Jada Robinson, Arriana Garcia, Robert Elijah Davis, Asia Green, Anisa Green, Alexia Green, Leyla Hawkins; Great granddaughter, Aubrey Gray Daniels. Three sisters, Frances Harris of Compton, CA, Joyce Whytus (Myrtie) and Margie Davis of Kansas City, KS; Two brothers, Lonnie Davis, Sr. (Edinia) and Lester Davis of Kansas City KS. Brother and Sister in laws, Robert Harrision of Sacramento, CA, Clarence Harrison (Lola) of Fordyce, AR, William Harrison (Doris) of Severn, MD, Alvin Harrison of Fordyce, AR, Calvin Harrison of Irving, TX and Arthurlene Tolefree (Joe) of Fordyce, AR.  Special Friends, Jesse Bridgeman, Thomas Rittenhouse, Victor Bell, Will Prosser, Carolyn Williams, Martha Gardner, Frederick Rivera, L.B. Henderson, Chester Baldwin, Neal Lubinski, Xavier Allison, Ruby January, Frances Hobson, Keith and Rosalina Davis.  Adopted Parents, Norman and Geraldine Ashe.  Adopted Families, James and Rhonda Fenner and family, Carolyn Harris and family, Bessie Mayfield, Evelyn Odem and a host of other relatives and friends.
