Marjorie Rubie Hunter passed away on January 31, 2018. To those who knew and loved her she was simply “Margie”. She was born in Austin, Texas on March 24, 1954 to loving parents Willis and Oscar Lee Hunter. She graduated from Albert Sidney Johnston High School, briefly served in the United States Army Reserves, and devoted her life to caring for her family. Her unforgettable personality, great sense of humor and generous heart touched the lives of every person that met her. Nothing can ease the pain of losing a mother; however, remembering her beautiful smile, her strong love of music (which ranged from Barry White to Selena to Tupac), and the warmth of her unconditional love brings us comfort.
She lives on in her beautiful children Rhonda Hunter, Erica Kasper-Chambers, Steven Hunter, and son-n-law Ivan Chambers. She remains the beloved sister to Cora Jackson, Freda Breckenridge, Herbert Hunter, and Jerry Hunter. She leaves behind seven grandchildren, Kentreal Price, Mariah Matthews, Miles Matthews, Demetri Rivas, Ayrran Hunter, Lemori Hunter, and Lauren Chambers; one great-grandchild Nylah Price; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
