Maliyah Renee Jennings was born on November 26, 2011 in Carrollton, Texas to parents Chad Jennings and Whitney Stanley. On January 2nd, 2013, Maliyah was diagnosed with a brain tumor (Astrocytoma Pilomyxoid – Grade II). It’s a type of cancerous tumor that forms in the brain and wraps within the brain stem.
Maliyah was a first grader at Popham Elementary School where she won the hearts of her teachers and peers. Maliyah’s favorite tasks included giving high fives, dancing and reading books, her favorite was titled “My Dad is Great”.
Maliyah fought a valiant fight with her condition over the years. She exhibited phenomenal strength by constantly defying the odds and inspiring a great many in the process. After surviving several surgeries and treatments, Maliyah has retired her armor and gained her wings on January 07th, 2019 in perfect peace and at home with her loving & devoted parents and grandmother, Sandra.
During her time on earth, this beautiful, loving, and compassionate angel has touched many lives and continues to bring inspiration and courage to many around the world. Maliyah is survived by her parents and two sisters: Deondria and Arianna Jennings.
