Linda Cousin Reed was born May 9, 1958 in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Patrick A. Cousin, Sr. and Edna Mandillion Cousin. On May 24, 2018 her untimely death called her home to be with the Lord.
After working in Pharmacy at the VA Medical Center in New Orleans for many years, Linda decided to relocate. She moved to Austin, Texas where she married the love of her life Douglas James Reed in 1997.
She was a devoted wife to Douglas and an amazing mother to her two children Kenneth Jr. and Akira, as well as her grandson Kenneth III in which she raised.
She was a member of St. James Missionary Baptist Church. Linda enjoyed praying for others, being selfless and giving. She had a genuine love for others and had an open door to all. She had a nickname for all her nieces and nephews and she was known to her grandchildren as Grandma Texas.
Linda enjoyed traveling, watching mystery movies and spending time with her family.
She is preceded in death by her father Patrick A. Cousin, Sr., mother Edna Mandillion Cousin, father-in-law Elder Willie J. Reed, mother-in-law Johnnie Mae Reed, sister Janice Cousin Ker, brothers Warren Cousin, Sr. and William Cousin, nephews Anthony “Tony” Cousin and Larry Ker.
Linda leaves to celebrate her life her God fearing husband Douglas James Reed; son Kenneth Hogan, Jr.; daughter Akira Jerome; daughter-in-law Latrice Hogan; son-in-law Keith Jerome,Sr.; sister Dianne Cousin Jeanpierre; brothers Patrick, Sr., Charles, Wendell, Gregory, and Edwin Cousin, Sr.; sisters-in-law Marilyn Reed, Elizabeth, Sarah Gina and Beverly Cousin; brothers-in-law Ricky Reed and Alvin Jeanpierre; grandchildren Kenneth III, Kaleb, Kyle, Keanua, Alicia, Keith Jr., Shardeé, Kache, Jeremiah and Jordan; as well as a host of relatives and friends.
