Leamon Cummings, III

September 2, 1981 ~ February 7, 2018 (age 36)

Leamon Cummings III, 36, passed away on February 7, 2018, in Elk City, Oklahoma. He was born September 2, 1981, in Columbus, Ohio, to Leamon and Sherry Cummings. His early years were primarily spent in Ohio and Michigan. At the age of 7, he accepted Christ as his personal Savior. Later on, his time was divided between Oklahoma and Texas. He graduated from Eisenhower High School in Shelby Township, Michigan. Following high school, he earned an Associates degree at Tulsa Community College. He also completed studies at University of Central Oklahoma. On February 19, 2010, he married Casey Jo Hensley in Austin, Texas.

Leamon was an outgoing and charismatic young man. He was affectionately nicknamed "Mini-man" by his grandmother, Mary Jane Jones, shortly after his birth. He created his own nickname and preferred to be called "Koolox". He was an active child and talented athlete. He excelled in a variety of sports, including football, soccer, and baseball. He was a member of the Cub Scouts. He loved sports cars and working out (despite his love for milkshakes). He also enjoyed taking his children to Main Event and Chuck E. Cheese's. His colleagues at work described him as hardworking, friendly, and enthusiastic. Leamon fought a long battle with addiction and had hoped to maintain sobriety.

Leamon was preceded in death by his grandparents and godmother. He is survived by his wife Casey Cummings; children, Tyson Eslin and Elijah Cummings; parents, Leamon and Sherry Cummings; three sisters, Schvon Cummings, Mindy Cummings, and Ondrea Cummings; godfather, Earl Simpson; devoted cousin, Marguerite Anderson; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
