The city of Lockhart has lost one of its most fun-loving, gentle souls, affectionately known as George Anderson, Jr. or Jr. Boy. Jr Boy was born on August 29, 1948, to George Anderson, Sr. & Ima Jean Carter Anderson.
George was the sixth child born in a family of ten children. He accepted Christ at an early age while attending St. John Regular Baptist Church. While residing in the Chisolm Trail Nursing Home, he would be so excited to be picked up to attend Promise Land Church. He’d lovingly say, “church is the best place to be!”
He loved people from all walks of life; he loved the Dallas Cowboys, fried chicken, and Dr. Pepper. He never met a stranger and was always the life of the party. His infectious laugh cheered everyone who knew and loved him. He maintained a positive attitude throughout his illness and never complained about his pain.
He leaves to cherish his memory six sisters; Mildred Carter (L.L.), Carolyn Hill (Arvil), Norris Moton, May Anderson, Darlene Cotton, and Katherine Burleson and three brothers; Billy Anderson (Betty), J.B. (Ernestine), Earl Anderson (Beverly); a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George & Ima Anderson, his sister – Della Ann Ellison and nephews, Jerry Anderson, Clifton and Charles Ellison
