George E. Anderson was born on the 23rd day of July, 1945 in Ft Stockton, TX to Ester Mae Hughes and George Jack Anderson. He attended Austin Public Schools, graduated from Old Anderson high school and St. Phillips College.
George earned his Purple Heart while serving his country in the United States Marine Corp. He enlisted October 23, 1963 and was honorably discharged October 22, 1968.
George joined the church at an early age. Even as a child he knew he wanted to serve and help others in need. As an adult he was dedicated to helping troubled children and families as a social worker through Austin Travis County MHMR.
George E. Anderson was preceded in death by his father George Jack Anderson, his mother Ester Mae Hughes, his brothers Willie Alexander and Ronnie L. Anderson, his sisters Georgia M. Dean, Evelyn Hopkins, Rose Lee McNeair and Mary Loucille Anderson.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife Charles Helen Anderson; his children Lemoine Todd, Timothy Anderson, Miosa Bunton, Chester Bunton Jr., Royschelle Belcher and Kristal Fields; his brother George L. Harris (Eloise); his sisters Paula E. Floyd (Roland) and JoAnn Johnson; his aunts Iva Henry and Doris Hughes; his uncles Sonny B. Hughes and Samuel Anderson Sr.; twenty grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
