Cheryl Ann Medearis was born July 20, 1949 in Seguin, Texas. She was the only child of James and Mildred Medearis.
She attended Saint Mary’s Academy in Austin, Texas, graduating in 1967. Cheryl continued her education and attended Howard University in Washington D. C. from 1967-1968.
Cheryl married Tommy Lee Clark in August of 1969 and to this union one daughter named Tami LaJoy Clark was born.
Cheryl received her degree in Education from the University of Texas in Austin in 1974. She started teaching for the Austin Independent School District from 1974-1987 in Elementary Education.
She moved to Los Angeles, California in 1988 teaching for the Hawthorne School District.
She received her Master’s Degree in Education from Loyola Marymount University in 1995. She started teaching at Corinne A. Seeds University Elementary School.
When Cheryl returned home, she continued teaching for Austin Independent School District from 2001-May of 2014 until she retired.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
She leaves to mourn her passing, one daughter, Tami Veal (Bruce), and the love of her life, grandson, Phoenix Lee Freeman of Austin, Texas.
