Charles Wilburn Barton, also known as Butch or Doc, was born on June13, 1942 to Mary Jane Vincent Barton and Cleveland Barton, Jr in Austin, Texas. Growing up in the St. Johns Community, Butch was the oldest of four children.He attended schools and church in the St. Johns Community where he became a member Of Black's Memorial Baptist Church at an early age.
He enlisted in the Air Force where he served his country and was honorably discharged back into citizenship. He worked for Capital Metro along side his baby brother for awhile and also drove 18 wheelers for awhile before settling in to his home area of South Austin.
He later married and to this union three children emerged.Butch liked to fish, but most of all he loved playing around on his C.B. radio giving truckers a hard but fun time.
Butch left this earth on June 3, 2019, he is preceded in death by hisfather-Cleveland Barton, Jr; Mother-Mary Jane Barton; brother-James Edward "Billy" Barton;brother-Harry Samuel "Poncho"Barton; grandparents Cleveland Barton, Sr, Emma LouiseBarton, John Vincent, Clara Vincent and son Curtis Barton. Heleaves to cherish his memories: two sons- Charles Barton, Sr.,and Fred Barton both of Austin, Tx.; sister- Mary E. Roberts of Austin,Tx.; Sis-ter-in-law- Sherrie Watrousk; ten grandchildren and counting and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives andfriends.
