Betty Jean Zachary Simpson was born January 26, 1937 to Subelia and Lamon Zachary near Taylor, Texas. She attended Bradshaw Elementary School at Norman’s Crossing, Texas, transferring to O L Price High School in Taylor, Texas. Betty attended nursing school at then MD Anderson Nursing School, Houston, Texas and Central Texas College, Killeen, Texas after which she dedicated 55 years of direct patient care in private nursing.
Betty accepted Christ, as her Lord and Savior at an early age at St. Lovall Baptist Church, under Pastor J.L. Slack, continuing to worship at Swenson Grove Baptist Church, under Pastors B.T. Paige & Mack Robinson and Greater Swenson Grove Baptist Church under the Honorable Pastor Tyree E. King. Betty joined The Lighthouse Intercessory Prayer and Healing Center, August 20, 2006 under the leadership of her sister and Lead Pastor Prophetess Mary Z. Daniels.
Betty was blessed by union of marriage, lastly to James A. Simpson, her wonderful children, Michael W. Jackson, Lynda R. Loach, Jeffrey Jackson, Sharon V. Jackson, Karen K. Jones, step daughters Gail and Diane Simpson. Betty lovingly raised granddaughters Keri Simpson and Kristi Loach, grandsons Walt Pierce, and Keith Pierce.
Betty loved and lost her parents, Subelia and Lamon, her husband James, sons Michael and Jeffrey, Michael’s son Jeffrey Walls, sisters Hazel and Ruthie, brother Larry Lewis.
Betty leaves to remember her with love, Michael’s children (Douglas Walls, Tawanna Starks, Michael Alexander, Michael Jamison), great grandchildren (Kristyan, Joshua, Kaliyah, Kinsley, Brielle and Sienna), brother Lamon Zachary, Jr. sisters, Lillian Hamilton, Ernestine Hamilton ( James), Winnell Coleman Yvonne Ware and , Prophetess Mary Zachary Daniels, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
