Betty Lee (Houston) Byrd Clark was born to Earl C. Houston and Verley Mae (Wallace) Houston on February 1, 1958, the youngest of five children born to this union. She passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2019.
She was baptized at an early age at 12th Street Baptist church. Betty re-committed her life to God and was re-baptized July 30, 2017 at the Church of Glad Tidings.
She married Charles Clark on February 17 and remained until her passing.
Betty received her early education in Austin, Texas continuing in Houston, Texas where she graduated from Cosmetology school, becoming a licensed Beautician. She worked in this profession for several years in Houston and Austin. Her family and friends benefited from her profession.
She was an avid reader and loved writing poetry and journaling.
She was multi-talented, using her talents, skills and knowledge to help anyone in need.
Betty loved her family and friends. She had a special bond with her granddaughter/niece Marche' Baker.
Betty is preceded in death by her mother, two sisters and one step-sister. Her precious memory will remain with her husband, Charles Clark; father Earl Houston; siblings Carolyn Baker (Phillip and Earl Houston, Jr., step-sisters, Vickie Houston and Daisy Maxwell; her children Cessna Houston, Manwell, Charles and Clifton Hill; ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Betty will be deeply missed by her special niece Marche' Baker along with other nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
