On December 10, 1949, Betty Alexander McDonald was born in Austin, Texas to Sylvester Alexander and Mabel Algree Williams. Betty was the daughter of 11 siblings.
She began her formal education at Blackshear Elementary School and later graduated from Johnston High School.
Betty professed her love for Christ at an early age and was baptized at St. Stephens Baptist Church. After her marriage to Norris McDonald she continued her membership with her husband’s ministry.
Betty was a dedicated employee of the Austin Independent School system for 30 years. Following her retirement, she continued to enjoy her hobbies cooking and singing. Betty dedicated her life enjoying her family and friends.
As she takes her journey to heaven she will be greeted with open arms by her father Sylvester Alexander Sr., sister and three brothers who preceded her in death: Linda Alexander, Sylvester Alexander Jr, Stanley Alexander, and Michael Alexander (Pat).
Her smiling face and love will be cherished by her 7 surviving siblings: Jerry Alexander, Charles Alexander, Ellen McGraw (Tuggy), Judy Kelly, Lillian Sterling, Kimberly Williams, and Ogania Brown (Funny). Betty was blessed with a legacy: Four Children: Debbie Williams, Chanel Baker, Leroy Baker (Sonia), Jessie Alexander (Keeta), and four extended children: Annie Pearl Allen, John Allen (Pookie), Albert Allen, Brian Allen; Seventeen grandchildren, Phuntazia (Tazia), My’Quazia DaJon, Ray Williams (RJ), Yazmine, Keirra, Arnesia, Jessie Jr., Cedrick Jr., Darryl , Jontrel, Jawuan, Zyronta, Jordan, Jace, Alfred Jr., Deon, De’Edrick, Destiny, and Deandria; Seven great-grandchildren, Al’yiah, Teon, Kyleigh, Zyonna, Kristian, Karamello. Her god children: Ronda Railley, Donald Milligan Jr., and Keith Organ; god sister Barbara Organ Harvey; and a host of extended family members and friends
