Beatrice Wilson was born June 18, 1934 to Henry Wilson and Ella Mae DeShay Wilson in Bastrop County. She was the second of four girls born to her parents and spent her child- hood years in Cedar Creek Texas where she attended Bastrop County schools.
In 1944 Beatrice accepted Christ at Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Cedar Creek, Texas under Reverend Henry Hill.
Beatrice met the love of her life, Large Arnold in Shiloh Texas. They married June 5, 1955 in Travis County. Newly married Beatrice and Large moved to Phoenix Arizona in 1956. While in Phoenix two daughters were born Gail and Gwendolyn. The family then moved back to Austin Texas where two more daughters were born, Joyce and Genice.
Beatrice enjoyed taking care of her family and as her daughters got older she worked outside the home. In her professional life she worked at Travis State School, drove school bus for the Austin Independent School District and also worked for Attorney Sam Buford. Once retired, she enjoyed spending time taking care of her grandchildren. Her home was constantly filled with children playing and laughing. She was a popular neighbor as she spent so many years on Mark St. getting to know everyone. Her children and grandchildren have many fond memories of her love of Westerns, Wrestling, and mystery TV shows.
Beatrice departed this life while in the loving care of her husband and children in her home on Thursday November 2, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Ella Mae Wilson, her daughter Genice Arnold, her grand daughter Dominique Ellis, and her sisters Marie Arnold, Bobbie Barnett, and Annie Lee Aldridge.
Beatrice leaves to cherish her memory, her husband Large Arnold; her children Gail Ellis (Vincent), Gwendolyn Brown (Willie), Joyce Arnold and a beloved and special Aunt, Bernice D. Baker. She also leaves 10 grandchildren; Jaquese Arnold, Titicia Brown, Nikki Reeves, Antisha Arnold, Chericka Arnold, Vincent Ellis, Caleb Arnold, Michelle Ellis, Rochelle Ellis and Jayquan Sanders; 16 great grandchildren, 3 great- great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
